Basic Principles of Stencil Printer
The stencil, typically made of stainless steel, is aligned with the PCB using fiducial marks or automated vision systems.
Solder paste is applied to the top of the stencil.
The stencil is lifted, leaving precise deposits of paste on the PCB pads.
A squeegee blade moves across the stencil at a controlled speed and pressure (often 20-50 mm/s and 2-5 kg of force), pushing the paste into the apertures.
This method is highly repeatable, making it ideal for mass production where consistency is critical.

Precautions for Using Stencil Printer

Need to pay attention to or related to the squeegee. Squeegee is the more important of the automatic solder paste stencil printer precautions. Because the squeegee is directly in the printing operation, so in the time of printing, must ensure that the distance between the squeegee and FPC, the general value of the angle between 60 and 75, the angle is too large or too small will affect the final printing effect.
The need to pay attention to the speed of printing. In the use of printing operations, the speed should not be too fast, or it is likely to cause some places are not printed, on the contrary, the speed is too slow, it will make the printing effect is not uniform. Generally speaking, the printing speed is kept within the range of 10-25mm / s is the best, so that the printing effect can be optimized.
It is necessary to pay attention to the pressure of printing. It is advisable to set the pressure to 0.1-0.3kg/cm length. Generally speaking, it is best to set it at 0.1-0.3kg/per cm length. Too little printing pressure will make the amount of solder paste on the FPC insufficient, while too much pressure will make the solder paste printed too thin, while increasing the possibility of solder paste contamination on the reverse side of the metal leak board and the surface of the FPC. This printing out more evenly, there will not be too much pressure and let the solder paste printed too thin, which also avoids the possibility of side leakage in the printing process.
